** 3 RECIPES FOR YOU FROM DUCANE GAS GRILLS **
Grilled Ground Chuck And Ale
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 14 to 16 Minutes
Ready in: 24 to 26 Minutes
Makes 6 servings
Ingredients:
2 lbs. ground beef chuck
1 large sweet white onion, about 3" diameter
3 slices stale or oven-dried rye bread
1/3 tsp. crushed caraway seeds
1/3 bottle ale, at room temperature
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
white of one fresh egg
Directions:
1. Loosen the meat by spreading it on a mixing-board. Peel and
scrape the onion. Trim the crusts from the bread and combine
it in a bowl with the onion pulp, caraway seeds, ale, salt, pepper
and the meat. Work the mixture with your fingertips until the
meat has assimilated the seasoning, bread-pulp and liquid.
2. Form the meat mixture into patties.
3. Beat the egg white lightly and brush on the patties.
4. Preheat grill to moderate heat.
5. Cook the patties on the uncovered grill over moderate heat
for 14-16 minutes or until centers are no longer pink, and internal
temperature reaches 160°F, turning the patties only once.
6. Serve with crispy-toasted rye bread and ale.

Stuffed Grilled Pork Chops
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 16 to 20 Minutes
Ready in: 26 to 30 Minutes
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
4 extra-thick rib pork chops, about 1 inch to 1 1/4 inches thick
3/4 cup dry breadcrumbs
large pinch dry rosemary, crumbled fine
large pinch dry marjoram, crumbled fine
1 Tbsp. melted butter
1/2 cup sweet onion, minced
1 small clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. salt
Directions:
1. Make pockets in the chops by slitting from the edge of the
eye to the bone with a sharp knife.
2. Combine the breadcrumbs, butter, garlic, onion, rosemary,
marjoram and salt, and stuff the mixture into the pockets. Use
a small skewer if necessary to hold the edges closed.
3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
4. Grill the pork chops for 8 to 10 minutes per side, turning
several times, until the fat is crisp and the meat nicely browned.

Chicken On The Spit
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 1 Hour and 30 Minutes
Ready in: 1 Hour and 40 Minutes
Makes 4 to 6 servings
Ingredients:
1 four pound whole chicken or two small chicken fryers
Beer Basting Sauce (For poultry, pork and ribs):
12 oz. beer or non-alcoholic beer (or chicken consommé
for poultry)
12 oz. water
Directions:
1. Prepare Beer Basting Sauce by combining all ingredients (except
chicken) in a shallow basting pan beneath the rotissing meat.
NOTE: The meat drippings combined with this sauce make a delicious
gravy. Upon completion of the cooked meat, simply add a sufficient
amount of flour to arrive at a desired consistency.
2. Preheat grill to high heat.
3. Salt, pepper and garlic salt chicken completely including
cavity.
4. With the rotisserie removed from the grill and utilizing
the four prong meat hooks, securely tie wings and legs to the
rotisserie. NOTE: Cooking time will not be affected by one or
more chickens.
5. Rotis for 1 and 1/2 hours on high, baste with Beer Basting
Sauce every 20 minutes.

** GRILLING TIP FROM DUCANE GAS GRILLS **
Preparing Vegetables On The Grill . . .
TIP: If your vegetables are being charred on the outside but
raw on the inside, try this: Microwave them from 1 to 3 minutes,
brush with olive oil and grill until tender, turning once.
NOTE: NEVER, NEVER LET YOUR CHILDREN COOK OR GRILL UNSUPERVISED!

** WINERY REVIEW **
The Jacob's Creek Story: "Australia's Top Drop"
. . .
The history of Jacob's Creek begins with the settlement of
South Australia. Colonel William Light who surveyed the city
of Adelaide in 1836 made his way north west in 1837 to the Barossa
Valley, which he named after a famous English naval victory at
Barossa in the south of Spain.
Jacob's Creek was also named by Light, after his surveying
assistant, William Jacob who subsequently settled on the banks
of the creek with this brother.
The Jacob brother's small cottages still stand overlooking
Jacob's Creek.
In 1846 a German immigrant, Johann Gramp, purchased land further
up stream. A year later he planted the Barossa Valley's first
commercial vineyard, on the bank's of Jacob's Creek. The vines
flourished and the vineyard was gradually extended. In 1850 Johann
produced his first vintage of a hock style white wine.
His small, historic winery and cellar, which still sit quietly
on the banks of Jacob's Creek, grew to become Orlando Wines,
Australia's largest wine and spirits group and most successful
wine brand exporter.
Jacob's Creek the wine, was first released in 1976 when a
1973 vintage of Shiraz Cabernet Malbec was named after the site
of Johann's first vineyard - and records have been tumbling since.
Orlando was rewarded for its international success in 1993,
by being named Australian Exporter of the Year - a title strongly
contested by companies from all industries.
Then, in 1994, Jacob's Creek was honored with one of the Australian
Wine Industry's most prestigious prizes - the Maurice O'Shea
Award. It was the first time the award had gone to a wine rather
than a person and paid tribute to the enormous contribution Jacob's
Creek has made to Australian wine exports.
An ongoing commitment to quality has resulted in Jacob's Creek
being a regular winner at wine shows in Australia and overseas.
Over the last three years Jacob's Creek has been awarded more
than 340 medals in wine shows around the world.
More than 80% of Jacob's Creek is now enjoyed in over 50 countries
around the world - making it Australia's most popular wine and
