SAVORY BEEF BURGERS

Makes 4 burgers
1 lb. lean ground beef
2 tablespoons minced yellow onion
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
3/4 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning, crushed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper
6 to 8 lettuce leaves
4 tomato slices (1/4-inch thick)
8 thin red onion rings
4 hamburger buns, split, toasted
1. Preheat grill to medium
2. In a large bowl, combine ground
beef, minced onion, mustard, Italian seasoning, salt, cumin and
pepper. in large bowl, mixing lightly but thoroughly.
3. Shape beef mixture into four
1/2 inch thick patties.
4. Place patties on grid over
medium heat. Grill uncovered 14-16 minutes or until centers are
no longer pink, turning once. Check with a meat thermometer for
an internal temperature of 160°F.
5. Place burger on bottom half
of each bun; layer lettuce, tomato and onion rings on the burger.
Close sandwiches and serve.
